Does Free Will really exist?

Some really hot data has come up recently about whether or not free will really exists, and - this is the hot part - the data suggests that free will might not exist at all.

Originally I was going to discuss this at length, but then decided not to.

  1. Who cares, as long as our brains are complex enough to give rise to consciousness and consciousness gives rise to extelligence and extelligence invents the lovely fiction of free will. It works fine, no matter what nano second games those neuroscientists play - compelled by whatever.

    This next bit is no result of free will, but an automatic reaction. One of those sensitive screams, don't you know.
    The revered author of "Bottom's Dream" is not called Arno Schmitt. He owned an honest, protestant D.
